This guide explains how transactions typically progress.
1. About GJP
Good Japan Products (GJP) is a supplier directory and business coordination service that introduces products made by Japanese manufacturers and craftsmen to overseas retailers and buyers.
GJP provides:
- English profiles of companies and products
- First-response support for inquiries
- Coordination until the start of business negotiations
- Liaison support between buyers and manufacturers
- Communication assistance in both English and Japanese
With these services, we help ensure a smooth and efficient business process.
2. How the Process Works (Step by Step)
Step 1: Search for Japanese Suppliers and Products
Browse through the list of manufacturers on the GJP website and select companies, product categories, or items that interest you.
Examples of categories:
- Lifestyle Goods
- Kitchenware
- Stationery
- Traditional Crafts
- Baby & Kids
and more.
Step 2: Contact GJP
Click the “Contact” button on the supplier page or reach us via the inquiry form.
Please include the following information where possible:
- Products you are interested in
- Approximate quantity or expected MOQ
- Destination country
- Any additional requests (OEM / ODM, customization, etc.)
Our team will review your message and reply within 1–3 business days.
Step 3: Coordination With the Manufacturer
Based on your inquiry, GJP will communicate with the manufacturer.
If both parties’ conditions align, we will proceed to business negotiations.
GJP supports the following:
- Translating buyer requirements into clear English
- Confirming details with manufacturers
- Gathering additional information when needed
- Obtaining quotations
- Adjusting trade terms such as MOQ, pricing, and lead time
Step 4: Receive Quotation and Confirm Trade Terms
We will provide the manufacturer’s quotation and key trade conditions.
Typical items to review:
- Product pricing (retail/wholesale)
- Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)
- Payment method
- Production or shipping lead time
- Shipping and packaging requirements
- OEM/ODM availability
If the terms are acceptable, the order process will begin.
Step 5: Place an Order
Once conditions are agreed upon, we will assist with the formal order process:
- Issuing a purchase order
- Processing payment
- Checking stock or starting production
GJP will continue to support communication between both parties as needed.
Step 6: Shipping and Delivery
The manufacturer will package the products and arrange international shipping.
Important notes regarding shipment:
- Shipping methods vary by company (EMS, FedEx, DHL, etc.)
- International shipping costs are typically paid by the buyer
- Lead times differ depending on product type and quantity
You will receive tracking information once the shipment is dispatched.
